One of These Cars Killed Her

A Murder Mystery Elimination Puzzle Book
57,800 Plates · 11 Clues · One Car

She stopped on the bridge nine minutes before the cameras went dark.

Jessica Voss read the query log at a plate-reader company. She found a colleague selling reads by the thousand and reported it. The board shut the network down — every camera off, every read purged, midnight on the 30th.

She stayed downtown to see it done. At 11:41 her car was found stopped on the Poplar Street Bridge, hazards on, door open, another car’s paint on the bumper, and Jessica on the deck behind it.

Two reader arrays sat over that bridge. Nine minutes before the purge, the night desk ran one last export: 57,800 Missouri registrations, plate and county, no image. At midnight the tool went dark for good.

Every one of them is printed in this book. The car that killed her is on one of these pages — it has to be. Eleven established facts survive from the investigation. Not one of them names the car. Together they name it exactly once.
